  9. False ingratiating insincere flattery
  10. Glad-handing and false cheerfulness
  11. Overbearing and won’t stop talking
  12. Using clichés “till the cows come home”
  13. Ego-driven gratuitous use of technobabble
  14. Failure to simplify complex topics
  15. Failure to qualify prospect financially or make payment options available
  16. Gender, age, racial and other insensitivity, stereotyping, and prejudice
  17. No research or preparation for call
  18. Ignorant about product and industry
  19. Clueless about how business works
  20. No sales process to follow, instead wings-it
  21. Easily capitulates to questions allowing prospect to guide conversation

  25. The best way to screw up a call is to sound like a telemarketer – reading a script, monotone robotic voice, no prior research, few meaningful questions, answers not sincerely listened to.
