Being Comfortable Guarantees Mediocrity
Our ancestors were generally tough as nails to withstand harsh day-to-day realities of survival. There were no comfy beds, air conditioning, cars, soft jobs in office buildings and instant entertainment. Some of us still share these hardships. Soldiers, oil drillers, ultra marathon runners and more. Even then they largely enjoy cushy lives comparably. Because of this we lose our edge. We quit easily rather than persevere. Our mantra is we can’t do it. Our lives are proportionally diminished.
Sales is easy in comparison. If you could capture a fraction of the hardiness of those that lived before you would end up in the top 1%. A superhuman among the posers. A solution is to purposely live an uncomfortable life. Like a weight lifter dealing with the hours of monotony and pain. Every austerity you volunteer to face builds your strength. Learn to play guitar instead of squamdering your time palying video games. Declare the most difficult major in collegeand get all A’s. A practical route is a rigorous gym routine, learning martial arts or any harsh contact sport. Running in extreme weather never missing a scheduled exercise. Enlist in the army and discover that basic training is much more than basic in its effects. You truly get out what you put in. You will become that ideal person you dreamed of. Others will sense your power and follow your lead. Your ancestors will smile.
